Education is the teaching and training of people, usually younger ages from preschool through high school or college. Every young person deserves education, which is required In most states through high school so there will always be a demand for teachers. Education workers most frequently work in traditional schools, but can also be found in sports activities, libraries, churches and after-school activities.

WHAT WILL I DO?

Teachers educate children, guiding them through their early years, serving as mentors and training them on both traditional skills like writing, math and science as well as personal skills like respecting others, time management and person responsibility. A background in education can also lead to becoming a counselor, librarian, coach or even principal.

Introduction to Education
Have you ever thought about becoming a teacher? Do you like working with children?  Are you wondering if you might like teaching as a career/ this course offers an introduction to early childhood, elementary and secondary education. Students will have the opportunity to examine their potential for the teaching profession. You will explore career opportunities, requirements, regulations, and professional ethics. Introduction to Education students will be paired with licensed mentor teachers for opportunities to work with students in classroom settings.

Child Development
Students will learn about the physical, emotional, social and intellectual development of children from pre-conception to kindergarten.  Numerous studies have show that pre-K years are essential for future success upon children entering their school years. This course is highly beneficial for any student considering a career pathway in education, no matter if students are considering teaching you students or older students. Even for students not entering a career in education, this is valuable information for future parents who want to provide the best possible environment for their child’s future success.
